PRESS: Google warns of disconnection of speed servers in Russia

MOSCOW, May 26 (PRIME) -- Russian Internet providers have received from Google a notification of disconnection of the servers that speed up loading of the company’s services, RBC Daily reported on Thursday quoting two telecom sources.

Google informed several providers about the dissolution of the contracts for servicing of servers Google Global Cache, used to speed up loading of Google’s services, including YouTube content.

Law firm Orderkom head Dmitry Galushko confirmed in his Telegram channel the disconnection of Google Global Cache. He said that the notification was received by several connection operators, including Orenburg provider Radiosvyaz, which got a letter from one of Irish units of Google, Raiden Unlimited Company, which said that because of the revision of the legal practice, the servers will be switched off.

A Radiosvyaz representative confirmed that the servers were turned off on May 19 and the notification came several days later.

Telecom operator Rostelecom said it does not see any disconnections of the servers, and mobile operators MTS and MegaFon saw no changes either.
